Our mission is to encourage and support initiatives that enrich the social, emotional and physical well being of children whose lives are affected by poverty, homelessness or domestic violence.

Grant History

FOR 6 YEARS

TOGETHER, WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE...
2024

PLAYHOUSE ON PARK THEATER GROUP, WEST HARTFORD CT

  • Funding for the Group’s Literature Alive On-The-Road to two (2) -Title I economically constrained schools in New Britain CT. This touring performance of POLKADOTS is inspired by the events of the Little Rock 9 and a colorful history lesson reminding children that our individual differences make us awesome not outcasts.

GRAY HOUSE, SPRINGFIELD MA

  • Funded 3 field trips, an on-site ice cream truck, and a magic and a balloon animal art show for the 20 children in the Kids Club Summer Program.

WOMEN AWARE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER, MIDDLESEX COUNTY NJ

  • Proposal pending

2023

 

HOMEFRONT INC LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ

  • Their mission is to end homelessness in central NJ and help families become self sufficient. Provided funding for field trips for kids in the Joy, Hopes and Dreams program.

CONNECTKIDS HARTFORD, CT

  • Funded 2 family events including transportation and snacks: Family Movie Night at local theater and private session at local roller skating rink.

DOVE INC. QUINCY MA

  • TSF funded a family luncheon, magic show and gift bags with magic tricks for children in their domestic violence shelter and Children Exposed to Domestic Violence (CEDV) individual/group therapy programs.

AWAIC, ANCHORAGE AK

  • Funding for outdoor play equipment, picnic table and benches for the backyard of the domestic violence shelter.

2022

YWCA OF NEW BRITAIN, CT

  • Funding for School of Dance Spring 2022 Recital. 420 dancers from low-income neighborhoods participate in these dance classes throughout the year.

SOLAR YOUTH, NEW HAVEN, CT

  • Programs in 3 high poverty neighborhoods for children ages 5-18. Funding for 2 field trips during summer camp.

2021

FULL COURT PEACE, NORWALK, CT

  • This nonprofit renovates basketball courts in low income neighborhoods. Funding was for purchase of materials: backboards, hoops and paint, while volunteers provided the labor to repair a court in Shelton CT.

CHILDREN'S EMERGENCY FOSTER HOME, PINE RIDGE INDIAN RESERVATION, SOUTH DAKOTA

  • Funding provided to purchase a bookcase, books, crafts and interactive games for the children to enjoy fun activities in a drug and alcohol-free environment.

2020

SOUTH PARK INN HOMELESS SHELTER HARTFORD CT

  • Due to Covid, there were no field trips or volunteers for the 15 children at the Shelter. With funding from TSF, the staff were able to create a summer of outdoor fun and sunshine for the children while keeping them safe.

2019

GIRL SCOUT TROOP 6000 FOR GIRLS LIVING IN NYC HOMELESS SHELTER SYSTEM

  • 9 Girl Scouts and 2 chaperones went to Great Adventure in NJ for Halloween.

  • 30 Girl Scouts went behind the scenes of the Samantha Bee Showhad a tour of the studios and pitched jokes with the writers. They all went home with Sam Bee Girl Scout badges that say Bee Prepared.

PINE RIDGE INDIAN RESERVATION IN SOUTH DAKOTA

The poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere the reservation is the size of Delaware and Rhode Island combined and home to 40,000 Lakota Sioux. 

  • Provided funding to the Children’s Emergency Foster Home for children aged infants to 12 years old who are removed from violent home situations. 

SAFE HAVEN EMERGENCY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER WATERBURY CT

  • Purchased a new play scape for the kids at the shelter. 

 

2018

SAFE PASSAGE NORTHAMPTON MA

  • Funding for supplies for the new art therapy and children’s activity rooms.

SAFE HAVEN OF GREATER WATERBURY (CT)

  • ​Set up a fund to meet the needs of children living in the emergency shelter and for a birthday party project.
